News and Notes
Robbery 960 St. Charles Av from Officer’s Narrative
On July 5, 2015 at approximately 8:00pm a black 2015 Dodge
Challenger was car jacked by two individuals at gun point. This occurred 960
Saint Charles Ave. at the rear of the building. The victims included the owner
of the vehicle and his mother who had arrived at this location to pick up his
girlfriend. Coincidentally the mother of the victim is a Fulton County Superior
Court judge. Both victims were unharmed and the vehicle was tracked by an
Iphone 6 that had been left in the car. It was later recovered in Zone 3.
Though the phone was still in the vehicle when located, an Ipad left in the
trunk and a handgun left under the seat were taken. Fingerprints and DNA were
taken from the vehicle, but no reports of arrest at this time.
Burglary 737 Virginia Circle
On 7/7/15 during the overnight hours a resident was awoken by his
dogs barking. Upon investigation he saw that his vehicle headlights were on and
banged on the window to scare off anyone who was outside. He subsequently
discovered a broken window in the basement. Police arrived within seconds of
the victim’s call and made sure there was not a burglar still in the house. An
Apple Powerbook, Iphone 6, debit and credit cards, and car and house keys were
taken. Fingerprints were taken but no eyewitness or video coverage was
available. There has not been an arrest at this time.
Burglary 865 St.
Charles Av (Arrest Made)
On July 13, 2015 the victim heard glass shatter in her basement
around 5:15. Police were called and the suspect was apprehended trying to climb
back out of the window he had broken. According to the victim, the suspect was
unable to exit the basement via the door into her residence as it has a double
key deadbolt lock. While waiting for police the suspect told her that “all he
wanted was the bike” and asked if she would “let him go”. The suspect was
identified as a white male named Raymond Ratley. He advised police that he was
homeless and had used a brick to break the window and then entered not
realizing he would be trapped inside. This case has been designated for
CourtWatch and will be prosecuted by Keith Lamar, Fulton County Community
Prosecutor for Zone 6.
Prowler 840 Barnett
Street (FBAC Arrest)
Officer Krieger, while working for the Virginia Highland Security
Patrol (FBAC) responded to a prowler call at 840 Barnett St. The victim heard
someone walking in his back yard. The
extremely intoxicated suspect was arrested after he was caught jumping over a
fence. It is unknown what his intentions
were at the time or if he was just intoxicated and unaware of his surroundings.
Reminder: All members call 911 first if you see a crime
in progress or a suspicious person or activity, and then call the FBAC
Phone. The phone number is
770-310-0871.
If you see someone or
something suspicious please report it to the police. When driving or out walking keep an eye out in
the neighborhood, what you see and report just might prevent a crime.
